I want to work with you to create queer imagery that symbolizes the collective grief and resilience of LGBTQ history and queer experience.
Pride isn't just glitter and rainbows. The history of the Pride movement begins with opposition to police brutality. Our community has experienced and continues to experience various forms of discrimination and violence. Even if one does not experience it as an individual, many still feel and carry that collective grief. Despite all the challenges, queer communities have always managed to exist and push the boundaries of the norm through all that pain and death. I think that resilience is beautiful. My intention is to create photos with you that honor the history, grief, but also survival of our community.
Dress code: dark. You can recognize the colors of your Pride flag in makeup or pins, for example. Large flags are folded into a discreet square.
Location: On Wednesday the surroundings of Turku Castle and Linnanpuisto. Thursday surroundings of Turku Cathedral. Those who have booked an appointment will be notified of the meeting location by email.
